"SAG" Financial Core
To say "SAG Financial Core" is somewhat a misnomer. Actually, "financial core" regards the 1983 United States Supreme Court decision (Communication Workers of America VS Beck) however the term "SAG Financial Core" has become the term used by those who discover it because the Screen Actor's Guild has been viewed as such a LIMITING union power in the motion picture industry. Additionally, I went back to the SAG website and found their revised "warning" statement about becoming a SAG actor: CONSIDER THIS ... "Despite the popular image that all actors are rich, most Screen Actors Guild members earn less than $7500 per year from Screen Actors Guild jobs. It is almost certain that in your acting career there will be times when you will need to earn your living from work other than acting. Be prepared. While we are not in a position to provide individual guidance to those who are getting into this business, we certainly invite you to explore our website to learn more about the history of the Guild and the business of acting. See our Beginning Actors section for more information." (Source) One last point. The page from the SAG website for their Special Online Agreement that existed at one point is no longer in service.
